Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we begin this new school year, I would like to extend a warm welcome back to all our 6th Year students and their families. This final year marks a major milestone in your child’s journey – one filled with opportunity, growth, and preparation for life beyond school.
We know that the year ahead will bring both challenges and achievements. Our shared goal at St. Finian’s Community College is to support each student in reaching their full potential, academically and personally. By working together, I hope we can make this a successful and memorable final chapter for our 6th year students.
Key Dates to Note: Please note important dates below where attendance is required
- Parent Information Evening: Wednesday 5th November 7pm (All Parents)
- November Assessments: 10th -14th November (All students)
- Parent Teacher Meeting: Tuesday 2nd December (All Parents)
- Mock Exams: 30th January -13th February (6th Year Students)
- LC Practical & Oral Exams: Class teacher will confirm all dates with students
- State Exams Begin: Wednesday 3rd June- Timetable available from the SEC in December

I would like to congratulate our newly appointed Head Boy Matthew Lynch and Head Girl Grace Cooney who will represent the student body this year. Congratulations also to our newly elected class captains and vice captains who will form part of the leadership committee.
We ask for your continued support in maintaining high attendance and punctuality, encouraging a healthy balance between study and rest, and communicating any concerns early. Please ensure that you have access to VSware for the coming year. Students thrive when school and parents/guardians work closely together so please stay connected with the school throughout the year.
